Knowledge on Demand: How Will AI Change How (and Where) We Work?

Artificial intelligence is regarded as one of the key disruptors that will change almost a quarter of jobs by 2027 (WEF Jobs Report 2024). The question now is: how?

Since February 2024, futurologist Birgit Gebhardt and AI expert Clemens Wasner, board member of AI Austria, have been exchanging their views on artificial intelligence and its impact on the world of work. Their discussion on the Auditorium stage was thus a summary and continuation of this lively exchange. The trends expert and the AI expert discussed collaboration between humans and AI, the impact on learning and skills acquisition, and the transformation of the workplace. Right at the beginning, they reminded the audience that all of this must be considered in the context of future applications of mixed reality headsets and other wearables, which will significantly expand the scope of AI in the workplace.
