Room Acoustics: Underestimated and Often Forgotten

The acoustics of a room can be planned. This makes it all the more strange and surprising that today people are still building rooms that are virtually unusable and then have to be retrofitted at great expense. 3D simulations not only allow reliable predictions to be made but also make it possible to “listen into” the planned room (through auralization). Even the legally binding ASR A3.7 regulation from 2018 has only partially improved the situation — room acoustic planning is still often simply forgotten during the planning phase. And bad acoustics have serious consequences.

Practical examples are used here to show why it’s more than merely sensible to plan room acoustics before an office is occupied.
