Music has many effects on the human body. It can not only evoke moods, but also stimulate the production of endorphins or influence the heartbeat. The use of sound in medicine and therapy ranges from reducing stress to treating pain or epilepsy. The composer and music producer, best known for his collaboration with AI on Beethoven’s 10th Symphony and his work on the score for Minority Report, spoke about his work with doctors and neuroscientists. His talk also dispelled the common notion that music is always a distraction at work. Research shows that listening to purely instrumental techno music, for example, can boost creativity. Walter Werzowa sees general potential for the use of music in companies in communal areas and to support recovery periods.
