From New to Next Work: “It´s the Culture, Stupid!”

New Work and New Care are inextricably linked and lead to Next Work. The central question will be how, what and for what we work in the future. How can businesses become more resilient and sustainable? How do they secure their skills needs? And how do they evolve into skills-based organisations? The transformation underway is more than a technological issue. It is an opportunity to further humanise the world of work.

In his talk, Dr Daniel Dettling painted a vivid picture of a future in which companies take on the role of a ‘caring company’. As part of a resilient economy, they will take care of the basic needs of employees and their families. New job profiles will emerge from activities and jobs that meet our emotional, social and intellectual needs and expectations. This changes the requirements for managing people – trust in action becomes crucial – and the spaces in which work is done. The sought-after futurologist sees four and in the future five areas of work that need to be taken into account in planning:
WORK SPACE – areas for concentrated work
FLEX SPACE – areas for flexible use
NET WORK – areas for networking within and outside the team
MIND WORK – areas for relaxation and recuperation
+ META WORK – workspaces in the metaverse
