TÜV Rheinland LGA Products supports manufacturers, designers and operators with impartial testing, inspections and certification (TIC) services for office and commercial furniture, as well as technical equipment. Testing and certifying products and solutions
The testing and certification process examines not only individual products such as office chairs, desks, storage units, partitioning and acoustic elements, or room systems, but also their use within the context of modern, open-plan office environments. Among other things, the testing covers stability, structural integrity, and safety of operation and use. The assessment also takes into account electrical equipment, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), ergonomic aspects and user comfort, cybersecurity aspects of networked products and systems, as well as relevant environmental and health criteria.
Independent test reports and certificates from TÜV Rheinland facilitate market access, provide support for tenders and demonstrate quality to external stakeholders – including procurers, planners, operators and users.
Sustainability & FEMB LEVEL
TÜV Rheinland LGA Products has been certifying office and contract furniture for many years in accordance with the FEMB’s European sustainability standard and the associated LEVEL programme, playing a leading role with a large number of LEVEL certificates issued. The LEVEL programme assesses not only products but also production sites and organisations – across key areas such as materials, energy and the environment, chemicals management, human and ecosystem health, and social responsibility.
Accredited emissions laboratories & international certification marks
TÜV Rheinland LGA Products operates accredited emissions laboratories where furniture and materials are tested for relevant emissions and pollutants. These tests form the basis for internationally sought-after certification and eco-labels, as well as for TÜV Rheinland’s own certificates. Manufacturers benefit from the high acceptance of test reports in international markets, as well as from the opportunity to combine different requirements – such as those relating to emissions, quality and safety – within integrated testing programmes.
