Technology experts Oliver Mack, macom, and Michael Zgoll, zgoll:, discussed the future of working environments and how these technologies will shape our working environments and the way we work in the future. They covered a wide range of topics, from the current status quo with the use of digital technologies for wayfinding systems, consulting and information provision, hybrid meetings and lifelong learning, to the future of Workplace 4.0. They sketched out a future in which employees not only use their smartphones and smartwatches for work, but also expand their perceptual space with mixed reality headsets. A positive user experience then involves harmonising technologies and data from very different sources. Another topic of the talk: Meeting rooms as a service. In the same way that companies rent printers today, they will be able to rent entire room set-ups, including the associated services, on a pay-per-use basis.
A detailed summary of the talk can be found in the IBA Forum Newsroom.
