Leading the Green Transformation together with the Right Material Partner

The transformation towards a more sustainable furniture industry increasingly comes down to one central question: How can complex materials be turned into functioning circular systems?

This presentation focuses on the recyclability of polyurethane systems, especially for applications that have long been considered difficult to recycle. Using our meltable as an example, we show how new approaches in PU recycling can help close material loops and keep valuable resources in circulation.

We will also provide insights into further Loop solutions within the BASF portfolio, ranging from mechanical recycling and recyclate-based engineering plastics (RC grades) to depolymerization and chemical recycling via the mass balance approach.

Our ambition is clear: not theoretical concepts, but scalable solutions with reliable quality and supply security. Real transformation only happens when innovation and industrial feasibility come together.

With the Creation Center (CC), we demonstrate how material expertise, design and application know-how can be brought together to develop products that are recyclable and future-ready from the very beginning.

For everyone who wants to do more than just talk about circularity in plastics and is ready to help shape it in practice.
