The Office as an Innovation Lab: AI Is Transforming Innovation Processes and the Places Where They Happen

Artificial intelligence is fundamentally reshaping the division of labor between humans and machines within innovation processes. While AI brings speed, diversity, and new perspectives to design thinking, implicit knowledge, empathy, and decision-making remain essential human strengths.

At the same time, AI is accelerating coordination between research and manufacturing and changing collaboration from the first idea to large-scale implementation. What does this mean for the places where innovation happens?

As digital twins, physical AI, and generative AI increasingly enter research and development, new questions arise around the spaces and forms of collaboration needed for the innovation office of the future. These questions will be discussed by Semih Aridogan, Falko Eschenlohr, and futurist Birgit Gebhardt.
