RESI Rocks: Sustainable Architecture Meets a New Work Culture

RESI in Bamberg is more than just a building — it is a living example of cultural transformation and stands for Responsibility, Excellence, Sustainability, and Innovation. As a net-zero building, it operates without active heating or cooling and demonstrates that less technology can create greater impact. Developed through interdisciplinary expertise, simulations, and real-world practice, RESI serves as a real-life laboratory where requirements were jointly envisioned, challenged, and translated into spatial concepts.

At its core is the human experience: an intensive change process involving people from all areas helped shape the working environment. Today, Activity Based Working is fully embraced here – with open zones for collaboration, quiet spaces for focused work, and maximum autonomy through flexible working time models. Desk sharing, a booking app, and shared community spaces foster trust, responsibility, and meaningful interaction.

RESI thrives on participation in – the way people work, use the space, and continue to develop it. It is an open environment for dialogue, learning, and experimentation. Sustainability here is not just a theory, but a mindset: fewer resources, greater impact!
