Working Group IT Overview

OBJECTIVE

The IT Circle is the central exchange platform for IT managers and digital experts in the office furniture industry.

The aim is to develop uniform digital standards, ensure the long-term quality of product and price data, and make digital collaboration between manufacturers, retailers and planners efficient and future-proof through coordinated processes and technical interfaces.

DESCRIPTION

The IT Circle deals with the digital foundations and technologies of the industry. The focus is on data quality, standardisation, system integration and efficient planning and configuration processes. The structured exchange between member companies results in practical solutions and harmonised technical requirements that increase transparency and strengthen efficiency along the entire value chain.

Its key tasks include:

  • Developing and refining industry standards, particularly for product data
  • Harmonising interfaces between manufacturers, retailers and platforms
  • Defining requirements for data quality, processes and structures
  • Supporting joint digitisation initiatives of the association
  • Evaluating legal and technical developments and preparing recommendations for the board and members
  • Exchanging information on IT trends in the industry

Supporting the development of software for office furniture planning

WORKING GROUPS

  • Digital price list– Standardization and maintenance of digital price and product data.

  • PCON-Tools – Optimization and further development of the use of planning and configuration tools.

  • Data facility – OFML: Quality guidelines for the creation, structuring, and maintenance of product data.

  • BIM (Building Information Modeling) – Integration of BIM standards and digital building models.
