Rewire: New Work Mode. Design Exhibition at Wherever Whenever - Work Culture Festival

Rewire: New Work Modes

Exhibition (from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm)

What do we need from tomorrow’s workplace? The days of the one-size-fits-all office are over. We’re all different individuals, with wide-ranging needs and demands. Workers demand time and space to focus, but also opportunities to connect. Distributed teams need to get the same spirit and share one organisational culture. Additionally, the ability to work from anywhere at any time increases the risk of the workforce being perpetually on-call, which can eventually lead to exhaustion and burnout. The world of work is in continuous turmoil. What are the implications for the workplace?

The exhibition Rewire: New Work Modes presents seven scenarios to redefine the workplace as we know it. Immersive installations, experiential objects and group experiences investigate new ways to bond with co-workers, find relief from stressful moments or feel empowered to make a difference.

Workplaces need to work harder to support tomorrow’s workforce. What will future offices look like?

DESIGNERS

Lars van Vianen and Chris Kievid: Deep Colour (from the SuperSurfaces series)
SuperSurfaces redefines the harmony between architecture and nature, offering a glimpse into a future where sustainability and beauty coexist seamlessly. Deep Colour uses insights from neuroaesthetics and colour theory to design spaces that engage the brain through carefully crafted visual stimuli.

PowerPlant: Solution Bar
Coffee is becoming increasingly scarcer, the role of the office is evolving, and eating habits are becoming more individualized. How will these shifts impact coffee in the workplace? What alternatives or new additions could emerge?

Human Material Loop: Fabric based on human hair
Human Material Loop repurposes human hair, sourced as waste from salons, into natural, durable, and traceable textile fibres. It challenges traditional methods of textile production and consumption.

Nino Basilashvili and Laura Papke: Human HeartSync
HeartSync is an interactive installation that uses heart synchronization as both a symbol and a functioning mechanism, fostering a deeper sense of connection where collective unity becomes the core emotional experience.

Every Human: Algorithmic Perfumery
Fragrances impact how we feel. Room sprays can define how we experience a space. What if we could personalize this experience? Deploying AI, the Algorithmic Perfumery is the world’s first perfumery for individualised scents.

Studio Alissa + Nienke: Breathing Light
Breathing Light is an illuminated object that shifts colour in sync with the calming rhythm of breath. Viewers are encouraged to match their breathing to the changing light, helping to lower stress levels.

Philip Schütte: SUN
SUN is an interactive installation that allows visitors to virtually control the sun’s rise and set. Blending the digital and physical realms, SUN explores the impact of technology on the way we perceive and experience the world around us.
